The answer to do people talk to one another in hell is yes people do talk to one another in hell.. Based on Isaiah 14: 9-10 we read:
Hell from beneath is excited about you. To meet you at your coming. It stirs up the dead for you. All the chief ones of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. They all shall speak and say to you: Have you also become as weak as we? Have you become like us?
But, the conversations are not what one would thing. Many people have the misconception that in hell they will be with like minded souls, comrades of sin and evil and they are going to have a good ‘ole time. On the contrary notice what is said to Satan himself when he arrives, “Have you also become weak as us?” This is not happy talk. In addition, we learn in the Rich man and Lazarus that the Rich man is able to have conversation with those who are in Abraham’s bosom. If he is able to converse with those across the gulf then he can converse with those like him who are in hell, or Hades to be exact at that time. The Rich man’s interest was in those who could offer him aid or in a way of keeping his family members out of the place he found himself in. While it appears that conversations take place they are not fun, happy reunion type of dialogues, but rather of persons whose end is as hopeless as the one’s they found themselves in.
Isaiah says that at the coming of Satan to hell the dead are stirred up. When you cook you have to stir a pot to make sure the ingredients do not settle to the bottom. If you don’t stir them they will settle. This is like the dead in hell. They are so weighted down in their own torment and despair that they need to be stirred even at the arrival of Satan.
