VI. Solving the Revelation 13:18 Riddle : the Beast, Idolatry Currency and Gold |
In Scripture currency is synonymous with idolatry.
The image of Micah was made from money that the mother of a boy saved for the purpose of making it into an idol which ended up in Micah’s home.
Dan set up Micah’s idol which was made from 1100 shekels of silver (we see currency as idolatry) So now we begin to see that idolatry as it relates to 666 is linked with currency. This is very clear in Chronicles 9:13. The Bible tells us that after the Queen of Sheba’s visit, Solomon yearly took in 666 talents of gold from the surrounding nations. Deuteronomy 17:15-17 warns that a king of Israel shall not multiply wives, silver or gold which Solomon did in addition to going after the gods of his foreign wives and building high places for them. 1 Kings Chapter 11 describes Solomon’s descent into idolatry. Solomon’s 666 talents of gold was both currency and related to his own idolatry. We see 666 as relating to both idolatry and gold, which is currency.
Throughout history, ancient and modern nations use gold for currency.
Only after World War II did the world stop using gold as a reserve for currencies. Gold, that is money is synonymous with idolatry.
In James Rickard’s book, The Death of Money: The Coming Collapse of the International Monetary System, which is one of the best books on the coming dollar collapse you can read, James Rickards spends a good deal of time in his book talking about gold and the importance of gold in the international monetary system. He stated that while there is no official gold standard it is very important in finance and the standard still exists though not formally. He also points out that the euro has more gold reserves than the US. The golden head, the golden image relates to 666 and to currency as gold reserves back currency.
We see gold and silver as currency in the description of the Prince of Tyre, who is compared to the Antichrist,
Ezekiel 28:4-5 states, “You have gained riches for yourself, and gathered gold and silver into your treasuries, by your wisdom in trade you have increased your riches and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.”
Nebuchadnezzar was depicted as the head of fine gold.
Daniel 2:32-33: The image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar in verse 37, “You are this head of gold.” The Bible tells us that the reason it had a head of gold was because of its power, strength and glory and wealth. In the Antichrist’s image we can expect to see a correlation of gold with currency.
There is also the pattern established in the Bible that the currency buys the idol or the currency is turned into the idol.
In Exodus God commands the children of Israel not to make an idol of gold or silver.
Exodus 20:23 states: “Ye shall not make with me godsof silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.”
After all of these instructions Moses goes up to the mountain with God and while he was gone a while the children of Israel got bored and discouraged and had Aaron make them a golden calf.
Exodus 32:31 states, “And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.”
The image of the beast is made during the Antichrist’s reign after he survives his fatal wound. Most likely his government will commission a considerable amount of money to have the image made and to have it made quickly.
We get the impression from Revelation 13 that the survival from the fatal wound is remarkable and the false prophet uses it to justify the commissioning of the image.
Revelation 13:14 affirms, “ And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”
With the image of the beast and the Mark of the Beast and the technology that helps it come into being along with the money that is used to fund it, we see the fulfillment of Daniel 11:38, “But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.”
