Knees That Have Not Bowed To Baal

Knees That Have Not Bowed To Baal

1 Kings 19:18 states: "Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him."
It seems like a needle in a haystack to find someone who is sold out to Jesus Christ.  Many Christians are so steeped in idolatry that they are totally unaware they are even entrenched in it.   Their knees bow to the Baal of their idols and they kiss them with their hearts.  And there are those in the world who have no place for God and it leaves you wondering if anyone loves the Lord God with all of their heart.  Just as God told Elisha who felt that he was alone in an idolatrous world, He has reserved those who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
As the Tribulation is approaching the world is growing wicked. People are into sin that is unimaginable.   It is comforting to know that even in this age, as we near the end of the age, there are those who have not bowed the knee to Baal or kissed him.   If you are a believer you should want to be one who the Lord mentions has not bowed the knee to Baal or kissed him.
When we do not bow the knee to Baal, God becomes our everything. He becomes our pastime and our delight.   He becomes our interest.   Some might say God is boring but on the contrary.   Nature screams His glory, as the Scripture says “the whole earth is full of His glory”.  Each nature scene, every animal, all birds are a wonder to watch because He created them and they do show forth His glory.   Even more so His Word is rich and full of secrets and truths that are powerful.
When I listen to God’s Word that is my movie channel, my escape from this world. When I read I enter His heavenly kingdom and His Word transforms me.   If I am troubled I am comforted, if I am tired, I am rejuvenated. In entering His world I become part of it and while my feet are on earth my heart is in the heavens with Him.   Jesus told us to lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven.  When we read His word we begin to focus on the heavenly and live for it.
God then becomes our crown of glory and our diadem of beauty.
Isaiah 28:5 states:
In that day the Lord of hosts will be For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty To the remnant of his people.
In the Scripture God refers to us as jewels in His crown.   To those of us who love Him He is our crown of beauty.  Sadly many in the world do not view God that way.  They do not regard Him at all.   Their crowns are their earthly idols.   We see it all around us, for most people everything is first but the God who created them who is so far down on their priority list it is as if He does not exist to them at all.
Daily God reaches out to people and He is ignored and his glory stands in the face of a world that ignores Him and chooses Baal over Him.  Yet there are still those who have not bowed the knee to Baal.  As a Christian you should want to be one of them.
